Suicide Prevention Month
One month a year we do our best to raise awareness to those that have taken their own lives. I think it’s a great thing nation wide we as a community to raise awareness, but as you know suicide doesn’t only take place in September. Unfortunately, it’s a year-round issue that has no end in sight. The point I’m making is we should be checking up on the ones we love year-round. It takes a community to make sure everyone is doing as well as they could be. Batteling temptations, feelings, thoughts, and everything else that comes with mental health is a daily challenge that can feel overwhelming at times with a feeling of no way out. I’ve been there and done that. I’m still there and still doing it. I know its hard, but if I could say one thing its to please stay. You only get one life. No matter what you're going through there is an end in sight to the problems and the pain and there is an uphill battle that will lead to the freedom in your mind. You deserve the peace of mind to wake up everyday and live worry free, but it takes time and effort. It’s not an overnight change and its something you need to be persistent about. But once you take the right steps forward it gets easier everyday. One day at a time. The days add up and turn into weeks. The weeks add up and turn into months. And the months add up and turn into years. Today take one step forward. Even if you feel like you don’t, you have a whole support system behind you. Take one step today and see where it takes you. Use this month as a way to build a support system with those around you. You never know how many lives you could save by starting a conversation.
