Don’t Lose Your Happiness on the Pursuit for More
Maybe its just me, but in todays world everyone is always comparing themselves to what they see online. Whether its their physical appearance, their living situation, the experiences their missing out on, and even upgrading their partners (which is ridiculous). I think a majority of the people who are unhappy are always striving for bigger and better. Sometimes it works out don’t get me wrong, its great to have goals. But when you start comparing yourself to everyone else, you're going to miss the point of life. You shouldn’t be living vicariously through someone on instagram, instead just live your life. You only get one. Why waste it worrying about what you don’t have? More money more problems, right?
When I hear this quote, it makes me thankful for what I have rather than what I don’t have. We see the million-dollar houses and the fancy cars, and the expensive yachts people use online. But what’s the use for them if there isn’t someone to fill the house that means everything to you? Whats the point of showing off a car that wont change how you treat people? I think the foundation to a happy life starts with simple principles like how you treat people. How you treat yourself. How you make change in your community. How you cherish where your feet are in the moments that you have. You can't take the money to the grave, but leaving a reputation that lasts forever with the people that love you does.
Next time you find yourself wising you had more remember this quote. “Don’t lose your happiness on the pursuit for more.” Take advantage of the time you do have and don’t take it for granted. It’ll be gone before you know it and all you’ll have is the regret of not enjoying where you were. Good things in life will always come to those that are patient and understand life is long and theres plenty of time to achieve your goals. But as long as you wake up with the sun shining, the ability to breathe, and having the ability to thank God for what he’s given you in this life is all that matters. Remember why you do something and the reason you're doing it, and if it comes from the heart, it’ll always pay off. Maybe not right away, but one day God will send you a sign that it paid off.
Enjoy the time you have
Love yourself
Thank God
Stop the comparison
